Master of Engineering in Power Electronics and Drives is offered by Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and started in the year 2004. The Department is steered by a well qualified and dedicated group of Faculty members imparting quality education to the students.
The Department of Power Electronics and Drives offers theoretical and practical expertise to the M.E. Students. The Laboratories are well equipped with sophisticated equipments like Semi Converter, Full Converter, MOSFET & IGBT Based Choppers, IGBT based single phase Inverter which cater to the need of present day Industries.
1. To prepare the students for successful career in power electronic industry, research and
teaching institutions.
2. To analyze, design and develop the power electronic converter/drive systems.
3. To develop the ability to analyze the dynamics in power electronic converters/drives
systems and design various controllers to meet the performance criteria.
4. To design power electronic systems and special electrical machines for efficient extraction
and utilization of various renewable energy sources.
5. To promote student awareness for the lifelong learning and to introduce them to
professional ethics.

3. Students should be able to demonstrate a degree of mastery over the
area as per the specialization of the program. The mastery should be at
a level higher than the requirements in the appropriate bachelor
